The role

The Patient Transfer Service (PTS) is an integral part of the Wellington Free Ambulance Service. We provide emergency and non-emergency patient transfer services to Te Whatu Ora-Health NZ, rest homes, hospices, and other community organisations throughout Greater Wellington and the Wairarapa.

As a Team Leader in PTS you will lead and mentor your team in a way that ensures work is always completed at a high standard and you will ensure resourses are being used effectively to meet our service needs. Part of your role is to seek opportunities for continuous improvement in support of the delivery of patient transfer services.

**Skills and Experiences**:
Who we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader who is able to build a supportive team environment through listening and being flexible within the organisations’ guidelines. You will have strong experience in a customer service environment and experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.

You will have experience in coaching and mentoring staff and assisting with professional development for your team. Your warm and approachable manner will be appreciated as you work closely on a day-to-day basis with your team. You will remain calm under pressure and make quick, considered decisions under tight deadlines.

Hours of Work

The normal working week will be Monday to Sunday, on a 2-3-2 roster between 6.00am and 6.00pm.[CH1] [RA2] However, the nature of the duties may require work outside the normal hours from time to time.
