Auckland City, New Zealand Contact Energy Full time

Company Description
**Te Tākinatanga | Our Story**

At Te Mata Hiko (Contact Energy), we believe home is the most important place in the world. It's all part of our vision to leave Aotearoa better than we found it. We’re a power and broadband company, but we’re so much more than that. We are transforming the ways we mahi, and how Aotearoa is powered, leading the charge on renewable energy and digitising customer journeys in ways not yet seen here. A team of 1000+ from all walks of life who love what we do, look out for each other, and learn from one another every day, we’re stoked to be guided by our tikanga: we touch lives to make life better.

Part of that transformation is to build the best Procurement team in Aotearoa. If that sounds bold, it’s because it is.

We created a new role last year for a Head of Strategic Contracting & Procurement to introduce an enterprise-wide strategic focus across C&P. Initially, we wanted the role to act like a consultant, assessing our C&P maturity and ability before making a recommendation on how to manage over the longer term. That upfront mahi has been done and found what we knew would be the case**:we need change.** As part of our Procurement transformation, we’ve created seven** **new roles, including this one as Procurement Business Partner.

**Job Description**:
**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role***

Reporting to the Procurement Delivery Manager (one of the new roles we’re recruiting for now), you’ll join an established team to be the Procurement Business Partner looking after Corporate. Our three other Procurement BPs (focused on ICT and Generation & Trading) have been here yonks and will happily share business insights to get you up to speed.

A big part of this role will be conveying our needs to the market and finding the best suppliers to partner with. As Procurement BP you’ll lead tenders and contract negotiations, develop and implement procurement strategies, analyse spend, manage supplier relationships, work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs, and identify opportunities across the board to drive improved efficiencies and better value for money.

This is a key role for us, one where you’ll get to translate varied customer requirements into meaningful market engagement that results in great outcomes for Contact. But it’s not just great for us - with the work we’re doing in decarbonisation and other community initiatives, **it’s great for Aotearoa.**

**Qualifications**:
**Ko wai koe | About you**

With plenty of mahi under your belt in procurement, including a proven track record of delivering procurement projects, you’ll have a robust understanding of how this stuff works and be ready to take it to the next level with us. You’ll need to be an awesome communicator, results-driven with strong commercial acumen and a fire in your belly.

We’re at the beginning of our transformation journey, so you’ll need to be that way inclined - comfy with change, ready to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in. Our Corporate functions you’ll partner with include the likes of Finance & Risk, Retail, Digital, Corporate Affairs and HR, so we need you to have worked in these spaces before and have a deep understanding of procurement for these areas in the New Zealand market.

Additional Information

There are a bunch of perks to being a permanent Contact kaimahi. Along with great people, development, and growth and progression opportunities, you’ll enjoy flexible working (where, when and how works best for you), free health insurance cover, better-than-your-average leave, access to Contact Shares, a ‘Good to be Home’ annual payment toward your home set up & wellbeing, a trail-blazing parental leave policy, discounts on Contact Energy products_, _and more.
