Our opportunity
As the Plant Manager for our site in Hawkes Bay, you will be an integral member of the site senior leadership team with management responsibilities for developing and maintaining a high performing production team.
As the Plant Manager, you will drive best practice manufacturing and provide key leadership on process efficiency to support ongoing continuous improvement including labour cost control, development of staff, safety and product quality.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Actively supports Systems Coordinator with any HS&E requirements including Audits, compliance, documentation reviews, projects and investigations
- Actively supports the System's Coordinator with any Quality requirements including GMP Audits, documentation completion Swab testing LMS training
- Manages people, plant and materials to ensure targeted efficiency levels are achieved including productivity, downtime, waste, OEE, quality, DIFOT)
- Optimizes production plans and start times to ensure truck departure times are met.
- Ensures plant issues and breakdowns are actioned and preventative processes are put in place
- Ensures training plans are in place, capability needs assessed, and development work planned with staff.
- Coach direct reports, providing regular constructive feedback
- Oversees staff engagement improvement activity and encourages staff participation in such processes.
- Optimizes production efficiencies and controls for cost
- Monitors and tracks MIPs and investigates potential Annual MIP savings.
- Monthly Site financial reviews with Site Manager
- Responsible for overseeing the completion of weekly ingredients and packaging stock takes & maintaining stock levels necessary for production

About You
- 5+ years manufacturing experience in the food industry
- 2+ years established leadership of a mid-sized team
- Food Technology, Engineering or Science Degree (desirable)
- Qualified/Trade Baker (desirable)
- People management skill track record
- Proven quality assurance and food safety systems understanding
- Machine operation and/or engineering management practice
