With a robust multi year roadmap IDEXX has invested heavily to scale fit-for-purpose architecture for ezyVet. We’ve formed an Architecture Practice and now we’re seeking an experienced Application Architect to join the team based here in our Auckland R&D center of excellence.
Basically, we’re past the ‘fast growing start-up’ phase and transitioning into enterprise scale. ezyVet is hugely successful but the now legacy architecture needs modernising to operate at enterprise scale with safety and responsiveness that customers will expect. Our architecture, design and engineering practices need modernising, scaling and predictability built-in so that’s we’re you’ll play. Gnarly challenge indeed

Where you’ll play
Provide design recommendations based on long-term organisation strategy
Create architecture and development standards
Participate in development of new product requirements, features and design
Act as internal consultant, advocate, mentor and change agent.
Production of documentation to assist in planning for the future of the product
Documenting architectural decisions (reasoning).

**What you’ll need**:
Seasoned software engineering expertise, familiar with PHP, Go-Lang, Typescript, Python, SQL etc. Importantly, you are hands on with regards to architecture design
Proven expertise with SaaS software architecture at scale and AWS experience/qualifications will help
Sound understanding of business requirements and translating these into conceptual, logical, and physical models
Genuine collaboration, capable of strategising an approach to a problem that inspires/influences others to buy-in
Highly effective technical coach and mentor for engineering teams
Familiarity with multiple web and cloud technologies and an unbiased scientific approach to technology selection
