**About the opportunity**:
Are you a skilled and experienced Workshop Manager looking for an exciting opportunity in a thriving business that manufactures products for local and international customers ? Our client Cuddon Ltd is an established business with a rich history spanning over 80 years, they are seeking a Workshop Manager for their Engineering Fabrication and Machine shop, to join their team in Blenheim.

**Role description**:
As they continue to grow and expand their business in NZ and internationally, they are looking for an experienced Workshop Manager who has worked with metal fabrication, welding & machining practices, who can contribute to their success and lead their workshop team effectively.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient utilization of resources.
- Lead and mentor a team of skilled technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of workshop equipment, tools, and spare parts, ensuring availability when needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination for project execution.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all workshop staff.

**This role will suit someone with all or some following background/experience/qualities**:

- Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or a similar leadership role in a Engineering Fabrication and Machine environment.
- Familiar and experienced in metal fabrication, welding & machining practices, Welding supervisor qualification would be an advantage
- .Advanced Trade qualified, NZQA level 5 as a minimum,
- Minimum 5 years in supervisory role in fabrication workshop
- Excellent project management, organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully managing and motivating teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using computer software and systems relevant to workshop management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide exceptional customer service.
