An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Storeperson to join a leading Marlborough engineering firm. This is a hands-on position responsible for servicing customers, managing steel stock, and operating cutting equipment. The role offers plenty of variety, combining workshop duties with customer interaction in a well-established, supportive environment.
Role description:The Steel Storeperson will manage the day-to-day operations of the steel store, processing orders, cutting steel to specification, managing inventory, and assisting customers in person and over the phone.
Responsibilities will include:- Cutting and preparing steel to length per customer and job orders
- Managing inwards/outwards deliveries and stock levels
- Processing sales and orders using internal systems
- Operating forklifts and handling materials safely
- Maintaining workshop equipment and ensuring safe work practices
- Strong accuracy in measuring, marking, and cutting materials
- Physically fit and confident handling steel products
- Customer-focused with good communication skills
- Forklift experience and current license (preferred)
- Organised, reliable, and proactive in a sole-charge environment
