Network Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Network Engineer who is proactive, dynamic, and ready to join us on a data network journey. There is virtually nothing that happens in our organisation that does not depend in some way on Information Technology.

**About the role | Ko te mahi nei**

As a Network Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting and delivering ICT systems across multiple customer environments. Acting as a trusted advisor, you'll be hands-on with network infrastructure, ensuring performance, security, and reliability across enterprise networks.

**In this role, you will**:

- Design, implement, and maintain layer 2 and layer 3 networking solutions, including enterprise wired and wireless networks.
- Manage and enhance network security using enterprise-level firewall products.
- Work with Cisco DNA Centre and ISE tools to streamline network operations and policy enforcement.
- Monitor network performance, conduct capacity planning, and ensure service levels are consistently met.
- Use Cisco IOS and other vendor toolsets (e.g., packet-level analysers, network management platforms, asset management tools) to troubleshoot and optimize network performance.
- Progress toward or maintain certifications from Cisco or other major network vendors to stay current with industry standards.

**About you | Ko Koe Tēnei**

You will be customer orientated with excellent consulting and communication skills. You will enjoy working with people to understand their business, build relationships, solve problems and mentor team members. To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A tertiary qualification in Information Systems or a related field or 5 years relevant experience to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge.
- Minimum of 4 years network configuration and support experience in a large organisation or complex network environment.
- 2 years minimum experience deploying change in a structured environment (preferably ITIL focussed), including planning, testing, documentation and communication of change.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and core components.
- Sound knowledge and experience supporting and maintaining Cisco network devices, including the configuration of switches, routers, firewalls and wireless access points.
- An understanding and knowledge of Microsoft core technologies such as AD and AAD Identity; Exchange; Modern Workplace; Microsoft 365;
- A great understand firewalling & security technologies & principles.
- Contribute to the establishment of standards for software/hardware implementation procedures and performance by making recommendations and working in conjunction with the Team Leader.
