**Senior Network Support Engineer**:
**Firstly, a bit about us**

Airways is one of the world’s leading providers of commercial Air Navigation Services, responsible for managing all domestic and international air traffic operating within New Zealand's 30 million square kilometres of airspace.

As a safety critical, high availability, distributed system; air traffic management system engineering is the top of the heap in terms of complexity. There is no down time, system must run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, even during system upgrades.

**About the role**:
You will be joining our Network Support team responsible for carrying out required activities and procedures to manage and maintain critical network infrastructure to ensure the ongoing stability and availability of networks across Airways.

You will be a key member of the team and provide specialist network support with a major focus on the implementation and support of network design changes to our operational and international client networks. Day-to-day, this means providing escalated tier 2 support and technical advice as well as a specialist focus on maintaining ‘business as usual’ requirements for all networks.

**To be successful, you will need to have**:

- A relevant tertiary qualification in a technology related discipline (Diploma or Degree level)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a network support engineer or network operations engineer
- Proven technical skills using Juniper routing, switching and Ansible
- A safety mindset with being able to assess and communicate risks
- Demonstrated experience with Palo-Alto or FortiGate Firewall management and monitoring
- Experience in the support and implementation of network systems
- Proven interest or experience in Network Automation or tuning Network Management Systems
- The availability to join the Networks’ on-call roster, after an initial training period

Of course, it goes without saying that you must also have strong communication skills and a positive attitude to learn and share knowledge with those around you. You’ll operate with the utmost integrity and demonstrate you can work cross functionally and collaboratively.

**Our Values**:
Airways is committed to reflecting the diversity of Aotearoa and creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace where people feel they belong and can be their authentic self at work. To achieve this, we are working hard to gain our Rainbow Tick Accreditation to ensure Airways is a safe and welcoming workplace for all employees.

**What’s next?**

Airways offers a competitive package and a great place to work, with free on-site car parking and an international reputation for innovation and success. You'll work with some of the most experienced, talented, and dedicated engineers in the industry.- Share
