**About The School**:
Proud of their diversity, and with a commitment to fostering personal excellence, Te Kura o Waimairi-iri Burnside High School is a state coeducational secondary school situated in the northwest of Christchurch City.

Opened in 1960, the school’s catchment area includes parts of the Avonhead, Russley, Burnside, Fendalton and Ilam residential areas and reflects a wide range of socio-economic groups.

With a roll of nearly 2,500 students supported by 160 teachers and staff, it is the largest coeducational school in the South Island.

**About the Role**:
The Business Manager role provides leadership to all non-teaching functions including finance and administration, HR and payroll, school property and resources, and Health & Safety compliance. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Business Manager works closely with the Principal and Associate Principal.

**Skills & Experience**:
A confident and capable communicator, you will form sustainable and productive relationships with the school’s educators and the support team, recognising the different requirements and expectations of both while still pursuing the school’s goals and objectives.

You will be excellent at stakeholder management, dealing professionally and productively with external advisors, contractors and regulators.

An effective leader, you will create a high performing team as well as oversee and meet the daily HR requirements of 100 plus support staff.

In addition, you will have:

- A relevant business or financial qualification
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role contributing to the strategic direction
- Experience in business planning and preparing operational budgets with experience in rolling forecasting and a sound knowledge of financial systems and reporting
- Experience leading finance and administration functions, as well as facilities and asset management
- A knowledge of office processes, policies, procedures and health & safety practices
- An understanding of employment legislation and experience with human resources functions.
- An education background (or similar) is desirable as is a background in finance.
