- **S**tudying towards or have recently completed a tertiary qualification in Environmental or Resource Management, Planning, Science, or a related discipline.**:

- **An understanding of the Resource Management Act.**:

- **A current New Zealand driver’s licence (full).**:

- **A high level of computer literacy, particularly in the Excel and Microsoft suites.**:

- **Good analytical skills and the ability to interpret data.**:

- **Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and**:

- **A high level of organisational skills including time management, prioritising, and the ability to multi-task**.**

**Mō te tūranga | About the role**
- **Based out of the main Waikato Regional Council office in Ward Street, Hamilton.**:

- **As a Student with the Rural Compliance Team, you will be responsible for monitoring farm water & resource consents which will involve**:

- **Collating and interpreting data, which may include communicating with consent holders to obtain any outstanding water take records.**:

- **Assessing compliance with the relevant resource consent conditions.**:

- **Undertake administrative follow up including database updates and compliance reporting.**:

- **Assisting with the collation of information from the Rural Sector required for monitoring purposes.**:

- **There may be an opportunity to assist Rural Compliance staff with on-farm compliance inspections.**:

- **Full-time role for a fixed term period of 15 weeks, starting in early-mid November 2025 and ending early-mid February 2026.**:

- **Training, mentoring, and opportunities will be available to the successful applicant, supporting you to develop and grow your career in the environmental compliance space.**
