**The Opportunity **| **Te **kōwhiringa**

Join our Transport and Infrastructure business, as a **Contract Engineer, **supporting the Northland business from our Whangarei depot.

This role will see you developing maintenance strategies, pricing, programming, planning, construction and claiming a variety of road maintenance and construction projects.

You will be delivering projects which include but are not limited to; delivering on contract requirements, optimisation of resource use and achieving target results to the client’s satisfaction, on time and within budget. You will also help with developing a strong and motivated team with an eye on health and safety whilst also ensuring stakeholder relationships are enhanced or built within area and surrounding local councils.

Reporting to the Operations Manager - Surfacing, you will be responsible for delivery, you’ll own the planning of maintenance surfacing works, be across the delivery, track the financials and productivities, and then claim and close out jobs in RAMM. You’ll be overseeing how we spend Council’s budget wisely, with a best-for-network approach, and offer up solutions where needed. Key to the role is owning all the programmes, from pre-reseal repairs, to final delivery linking with our internal departments, and subcontractors, for the surfacing department.

You will help manage the day-to-day operations of a well-developed sealing crew.
You will manage exciting standalone projects like full road resurfacing rehabilitations, and you will help our growth, assisting with chasing and winning future works in Northland. You will also connect with other arms of Council to ensure we are their go-to for work.

With experience in contract and people management, and a firm foundation of work in Civil Construction, you will have the knowledge and confidence to tackle this role.
