The Opportunity
Are you a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a passion for numbers? We are seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll provide high-level actuarial, analytical, and technical support to our Actuarial teams. Your responsibilities will include data preparation and analysis, modelling, profit and capital requirement analysis, and industry/competitor analysis. You'll play a crucial role in the development and review of actuarial, financial, and product systems, as well as providing support for ad hoc requests from various functional areas.
As an Actuarial Analyst, you'll also be responsible for delivering data insights to support our business units in achieving their strategic objectives. This includes preparing and reviewing data integrity, running models and extracting outputs, debugging models and spreadsheets, and formulating statistical and actuarial recommendations. Your effective communication skills will be essential in clearly conveying analysis results and recommendations.
Additionally, you'll contribute to financial reporting and business planning, providing key data trends to enable effective decision-making. Your insights will assist other business units with their strategic planning. Your Story- Provision of data insights which support the business units to achieve their strategic objectives through a high level of actuarial, analytical and technical support (including not limited to):
- Preparation of data, investigation and review of data integrity- Running models and code and extract output from models- Debugging of models and spreadsheets to identify and resolve problems quickly when they arise- Formulation of statistical and actuarial advice and recommendations based on results of data interpretation and analysis and knowledge of environment in a timely and accurate manner- Effective and clear communication of analysis results and recommendations- Provision of financial reporting and business planning, which meets internal customer requirements and provide insights into key data trends to enable effective decision making.- Provision of business insight to other business units to assist with their strategic planning and decision making.- Development of technical skills and continuing professional education to ensure ongoing delivery of best practice actuarial support to the business units and to ensure that knowledge of actuarial methodologies is kept up to date.- Work to maintain a positive and productive team culture by participating in targeted coaching, committing to improvement initiatives and projects and agreeing to challenging objectives
