**The AUT Motion Capture Lab is looking for a new Motion Capture Technician to join our team supporting students and staff across the schools of the Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies, and wider university.**
- Location: AUT City Campus, Auckland City
- Full time permanent position

**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
- Operational support of undergrad & postgrad Design & Creative Technologies students
- Oversees and helps in the development of real-time tracking & virtual production pipelines
- Assist with the improvement & integration of tools, techniques, processes & plug-ins to solve various motion capture challenges
- Help optimize the pipeline(s) for students, staff & industry clients
- Help support & encourage DCT students to learn & develop good motion capture skills by demonstrating industry-standard practice
- Participate in discussions surrounding future hardware & technical needs
- Support our research staff & post grad students in areas such as:

- Digital Media
- Motion Capture
- Game Design
- 3D animation & modelling
- VFX
- Cinematic production
- Virtual & Augmented Reality
- Virtual Production

**He kōrero mōu | About you**
- Creative & confident with a knowledge of the motion capture pipeline (incl. Unreal Engine, motion builder, 3D modelling & optical tracking software)
- Have good technical software & hardware experience
- Definite interest in exploring future trends & expanding their technical knowledge
- Knowledge of:

- Unreal Engine, particularly the aspects that relate to virtual production.
- 3D Animation software such as Maya or Blender.
- Motion Builder and the associated Livelink plugins.
- Optical tracking software/hardware.
- Experience with Network architecture and protocols.
- Excellent familiarity with current industry animation standard + practice.
- Strong sense of initiative
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Ability to multi-task and balance work
- Excellent communication skills
- Intelligent, proactive, energetic, organized & pragmatic
- Ability to demonstrate a mature outlook & sound judgment
- Excellent command of written & spoken English & demonstrated abilities

**Salary Range**:$56,500 - $75,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
