About the Role

This is a dynamic and hands-on role providing technical and operational support across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We're looking for a confident, creative professional with strong expertise in both 3D and 2D digital production. Ideally, you'll bring practical experience with Unreal Engine, 3D modelling software, cinematography, and lighting.

Your primary focus will be mentoring students and supporting teaching and research, particularly in virtual production and motion capture environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational and technical support in the Virtual Production and Motion Capture Studios.
- Mentor students in 3D content creation, Unreal Engine, and motion capture workflows.
- Support academic and research staff across areas such as Digital Media, Game Design, 3D Animation & Modelling, VFX, Cinematic Production, and AR/VR.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of real-time animation and virtual production capabilities.
- Assist in refining and integrating tools, plug-ins, and digital pipelines to enhance studio efficiency and support teaching, learning, and research.
- Flexibility to occasionally work overtime, including evenings or weekends, to support external client work or university promotional events.

Desired Technical Expertise
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine, particularly in virtual production workflows.
- Experience with 3D animation software (e.g. Maya, Blender).
- Experience with Network architecture and protocols
- Knowledge of virtual stagecraft, including camera systems and lighting.
- Familiarity with motion capture systems and pipelines.
