**Mō tēnei mahi (About this job)**

We are seeking a passionate Kaiako to guide our tauira on their journey in the traditional Māori Indigenous Art of Mau Rākau. This is a permanent, full-time position that starts in January 2025.

You will be responsible for developing engaging lesson plans, presenting material effectively, and responding to the individual learning needs of tauira. Your role will also include evaluating and communicating their progress, assessing their skills, and monitoring their overall development.

**Mōu (About you)**

To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about about teaching Māori Indigenous Arts and want to contribute to whānau transformation through education.

You will also bring with you:

- Te Maunga Kura Toi (Bachelor of Māori Arts) Level 7, or a comparative equivalent (Level 7 or higher)
- Level 5 Teaching Qualification
- Proven expertise and experience in the Māori Art world, including art affiliations and appropriate networks
- 2-3 years’ experience in Adult Teaching
- Full and current New Zealand Drivers License.
- Knowledge of Te Reo Māori and Tikanga is essential.

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
