Te tūranga - The roleAs a Communications Adviser at the Reserve Bank your role will be to provide support our communications function and external engagement programme. You will take the lead in supporting key business areas, with a particular focus on Governance, Strategy and Corporate Relations. The role provides media monitoring support and coordinates responses to public, stakeholder and media inquiries.Ō pūkenga - About youTo be successful in one of these roles you'll have:
- A minimum of one year experience in communications, public relations and/or journalism
- A degree in communications, commerce or equivalent tertiary qualification
- A good understanding or a strong interest in economics and/or financial markets and/or regulated entities (banks, non-bank deposit takers and insurance companies).
- Excellent writing and communication skills and an ability to write clearly and concisely for non-technical audiences tailoring messages to different audiences.
- Understanding of strategic communications and ability to develop and implement communications and engagement plans (with support and guidance as needed).
- A good understanding of the requirements of the media and an interest in current affairs and reputation management.
- Experience in the use of digital communications, such as web and social media channels
- Proven relationship management skills and a proactive approach to engaging stakeholders.
