We have an opportunity for an experienced and certified network engineer to join our team in Wellington. The role is based on site in our central CBD offices.

**Salary**: $77,000-$90,000
Full time - 40 hours per week
The role is varied and focused on delivering exception support and project outcomes for our clients.
On call duties are required as part of the role.
**Description**
The Network Engineer is responsible for delivering exceptional support and project outcomes for our clients.
**Responsibilities**
**Customer Service**
- Install, configure, and support network equipment for NSPIRE clients, including routers, switches, proxy-servers, switches, WAN accelerators, wireless devices, security devices, DNS and DHCP.
- Configure network devices to maximise network efficiency and security
- Maximise network performance through on-going monitoring and troubleshooting
- Attend to technical jobs as logged through the NSPIRE support desk system
- Perform all technical work to NSPIRE and industry best practices and guidelines
- Ensure client requirements are met in all respects
- Inform Service Delivery Manager and Sales Team of potential sales opportunities
- Provide customer and technical advice to Service Delivery Manager and/or Sales Team for the purposes of quotes, proposals, and audits
- Maintain highest level of professionalism
- Keep key stakeholders informed
**Technical Leadership**
- Research, identify, resolve, or manage the resolution of, root cause of detected issues and malfunctions and document all fixes
- Assist NSPIRE with research on emerging technologies to ensure NSPIRE remains at the forefront of network architecture development and design.
- Develop technical best practices across the team
- Monitor own performance and liaise with Service Delivery Manager to develop a training plan to improve skills, abilities, and competencies
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of network engineering and related technology.
**Operational Management**
- Be effective with management of time and job priorities.
- Assist with technical development of NSPIRE Team.
- Ensure all time is logged against the applicable job daily.
- Take ownership of assigned projects, ensuring clients and Service Delivery Manager are kept informed of progress and any potential delays or budget overruns.
**Position Requirements**
Formal Education & Certification
- Diploma or university degree in the field of computer science/engineering or information systems
- Appropriate Certifications in IT
**Knowledge & Experience**
- 7+ years’ relevant work experience
- Extensive experience in developing strategic systems architecture plans
- Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis
- Solid technical knowledge of networking and communications
- Knowledge of programming languages
- Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards,
- Proven project planning and management experience
