Your new role is with a large public sector agency that provides essential services to New Zealand in a fascinating and dynamic environment. The organisation is looking to add further capability to its networking team for an important project.

**Your new role**

You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure. Your expertise in Cisco routers and switches, Juniper SRX firewalls, and other networking technologies will be essential to ensure seamless connectivity and security.

**Responsibilities**

**Design and Implementation**:
Configure and deploy Cisco routers and switches to optimise network performance.

Set up and maintain Juniper SRX firewalls to enhance security.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions.

**Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting**:
Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address issues.

Troubleshoot network problems, including connectivity, latency, and packet loss.

Ensure high availability and reliability of network services.

**Security and Access Control**:
Configure and manage Checkpoint Firewalls to safeguard our network.

Implement access control policies and maintain network security protocols.

Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.

**Wireless Networking**:
Experience with Aruba Wireless Controllers is desired.

Design, deploy, and manage wireless networks for optimal coverage and performance.

**What you'll need to succeed**

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in network engineering.

Proficiency in Cisco routers and switches.

Familiarity with Juniper SRX firewalls.

Knowledge of Aruba Wireless Controllers.

Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
