**About the Role**
This pivotal role puts you at the heart of our operations, overseeing the annual production of 4.5 million LLL straws and 2.5 million frozen straws. With a focus on quality and adherence to health and safety regulations, you'll ensure we meet our high-standards and deliver on our customer commitments. Your key responsibilities will include:
- People Leadership: Build a collaborative environment where team members feel valued, supported, and motivated to succeed.
- Champion Quality and Compliance: Ensure operations consistently meet required standards.
- Financial Management: Prepare and manage annual budgets (capital and operating) and drive operational efficiency.
- Achieve Production Targets: Oversee the production process to meet semen production goals and export deadlines, proactively addressing any laboratory issues.
- Operational Planning: Plan and coordinate daily operational activities and resource requirements to meet production demands.
- Drive Innovation: Initiate and lead technical and operational changes to improve processes and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Collaborate Seamlessly: Build and manage relationships with key AB Operations staff to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of semen products.
**About You**
You're a strong leader who genuinely cares for their team, enjoys change, and maintains a strong focus on quality. Your skills and experience include:
- Extensive experience in a laboratory/production environment with a tertiary qualification in science.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and manage a high-performing team, preferably in a production environment.
- Strong analytical skills to enhance process and system effectiveness.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across our business.
- Experience managing workloads, staff, and resources under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Be results and quality-focused with a collaborative approach.
- Experience in process improvement and change management is advantageous.
