**Te whiwhinga mahi/The Opportunity**

We are looking for a hard-working, talented and motivated Senior Advisor, Reporting to join our team on a fixed term arrangement. This is a parental leave cover position for 12 months.

The Senior Advisor, Reporting is a key part of the Planning and Reporting team, contributing to our team's direction, developing the advisor role, providing quality assurance, and giving advice and support across the office.

This role will be the expert in reporting and performance measurement for Te Arawhiti. In this role you will lead the agency's accountability reporting processes and provide support to the business to translate their achievements into a simple and easy to understand performance story. Additionally, you will work alongside other teams and provide support to the business to prepare Budget bids for new funding, lead and assist the preparation of their business plans, and work with them to translate the agency's strategy into actions.

When working with the business, you will develop and facilitate reporting guidance, providing the tools and techniques to enable effective reporting and fit-for-purpose performance indicators. A sound level of business expertise will be valued, as well as an understanding of our mahi that we do here at Te Arawhiti.

Previous experience will illustrate evidence of managing or preparing reporting processes for organisations, development of reporting documents such as annual reports, annual review and estimates documents, as well as providing support on internal reporting to senior leadership teams.

To be successful in this role, you will:

- Be committed to the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Be committed to coaching and mentoring junior team members and contributing to the direction of the team
- Bring an understanding of, and commitment to continued learning about tikanga and te reo Māori
- Have an excellent understanding of the machinery of government and working in the public sector
- Have a high tolerance for ambiguity and demonstrated ability working across an organisation
- Have strong knowledge of Ministerial processes, statutory decision-making, as well as problem-solving, relationship management and influencing skills
- Have excellent written skills and ability to brief for different audiences

**Utu ā-tau/**Salary**

The appointing salary for this role will be between $90,377 and $118,022 based on skills and experience.
