Our Recreation, Sports and Events teams are hiring now for a Swim Education Team Leader at Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre, our newest facility._

**About the role | Ko te mahi nei**

As the Swim Education Team Leader, you will be responsible for programming and the delivery of the Swimsmart and Swimsafe programmes at Parakiore, along with ensuring a smooth and enjoyable customer experience. You will also:

- Oversee programme management, including planning and delivery of Swimsmart and Swimsafe.
- Support and mentor Swim Education Instructors through ongoing training.
- Manage logistics, systems, processes, and staff to enhance the customer experience.
- Handle rostering, coordinate cover, and set goals for the programme.
- Monitor student progress and engage with whānau.
- Occasionally jump in the water to teach a class when needed, especially to help a child achieve a long-awaited milestone.

**About you | Ko Koe Tēnei**

To be successful in this role you will:

- Hold a relevant qualification and industry experience.
- You have a strong background in swim education and leadership, with in-depth knowledge of swim instruction. Experience teaching under-5s and school-aged children would be an advantage.
- You will need to collaborate effectively within the team and foster a culture of unity across the facility. This will be crucial in ensuring the facility operates efficiently.
- You take a firm but fair approach to mentoring your team while communicating effectively and prioritising customer experience.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, especially during the hustle and bustle at the start and end of each school term.

Parakiore was a Ngāi Tūāhuriri hero renowned for his resilience, determination and agility.

**Additional Information | Ko ētahi atu kōrero**:

- ** Hours of work**:The role is primarily Monday to Friday; however, as part of a seven-day operation, you may be required to work outside these hours as needed.
- ** Position**:Full-time, permanent.
- ** Location**: This role will be based at Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre, 50 St Asaph Street. However, during the establishment phase, you will work from Te Hononga Civic Offices, 53 Hereford Street, and across our network of facilities.
