The Senior Specialist - Urban Design supports the group by ensuring that infrastructure projects take account of global best practice Urban Design principles and strategies.

The Urban Design Team works in an adaptable, collaborative and fluid way on a wide range of Auckland Transport (AT) projects and external projects led by public and private stakeholders.

This role provides advice and input on designs, projects, policies and studies including researching Urban Design best practice, and supporting the ongoing needs of the Transport Design Manual and Capital Projects Accessibility Group (CPAG).

**Key Tasks will also include**:

- High quality input to strategy documents and plans to ensure focus on urban design principles.
- Project designs are delivered to key performance metrics, compliance and service level requirements.

**What are we looking for?**
- Tertiary degree in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Planning, Architecture, Design, Engineering or a related discipline.
- 10 years' experience in urban design, ideally including transport infrastructure
- Knowledge of the transport sector and infrastructure projects
- Thorough understanding of local government and the private sector
