As Sports Turf Assistant you'll contribute to the maintenance of high-quality sports turf on Hagley Park, turf areas in the Central City, and support preparation for events in Hagley Park. You'll also support staff in ensuring Hagley Oval is developed and maintained to host the extensive program of cricket to be played at the ground from community to international level.

You'll be responsible for the provision of seasonal grounds-keeping during our busy cricket and events season, assist with the maintenance and preparation of outdoor sports surfaces, grounds, roads and pathways, and be part of an experienced and passionate team responsible for delivering a number of high-profile events over the summer.

You'll have a keen interest in turf management, with hands-on experience considered a distinct advantage. You'll have a good understanding of the operation of sports and events at the venue, as well as a full current driver's license.

This is an exciting opportunity to spend your summer months in the outdoors, in the sporting venue that pays tribute to cricket history in Canterbury.

**Additional information**:

- Hours of work_ - Part time - 16 hours per week
- Salary_ - $23.19 to $23.65 per hour
- Location_ - This position is primarily based at central city

Whilst staff working at the Christchurch City Council are not currently required to be vaccinated, applicants need to be aware that should the COVID-19 environment change, roles across the organisation will be assessed, and the requirement to be vaccinated may be reviewed.
