**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**
The Asset Technician will be responsible for tracking and currency of all Property & Facilities infrastructure assets, and the development of management systems for all predictive, preventative and condition-based maintenance requirements for compliance and high-risk assets. They will also be responsible for the District Cold Chain process and BAU operations (medical fridges). The individual will work closely with the Facilities and Infrastructure team to ensure that all assets are in good working order and that any issues are addressed promptly to minimise disruption to business operations and the assets - lifespan is not at risk.

The Property & Facilities team provides the overall asset and facilities management of buildings, plant & equipment, and clinical equipment, either owned or leased by the District. The unit includes the following key areas; Support Services, Capital Projects, Technical Services, Clinical Engineering and Business Improvement and Capability Development.

**Moū - About you**
Essential qualifications, skills and experience we are looking for:
- Record of working successfully in a collective and collaborative leadership environment with an ability to constructively challenge thinking and represent and articulate ideas
- Good emotional intelligence that supports the ability to both empower and influence individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and perspectives
- Ability to effectively and credibly communicate with various audiences demonstrating an adaptive style that creates confidence and trust
- Good interpersonal skills, displaying honesty, integrity and a demonstrated sense of ethics in all decisions and actions
- Working knowledge of Asset Management and Maintenance standards and techniques in the New Zealand context.
- Knowledge of the International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM), National Asset Management Support (NAMS), ISO 55001 standards or similar.
- Experience in the use of a CMMS system and in data models and reporting packages
- Good level of presentation, communication, problem solving and influencing skills
- Ability to work collegially, positively and constructively with relevant Property & Facilities team members
- Strong IT skills, i.e. MS Office suite and use of financial, asset and maintenance systems
- Able to interpret as-built documentation / drawings
- Ability to process map workflows and maintain documentation
- Naturally organised and a keen eye for detail
