As an Engineering Technician – Services, you'll provide Civil Engineering and draughting support to our Development Engineer and wider engineering team. Your work will help deliver and maintain critical infrastructure, including water, wastewater, stormwater, and roading services.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with engineering design, draughting, and project preparation.
  • Carry out site investigations, surveys, and basic supervision for engineering projects.
  • Support asset management by updating plans and records accurately.
  • Process service connection requests and provide technical advice to customers.
  • Assess subdivision and development applications, ensuring compliance with Marlborough Environment Plan and Council standards.
  • Contribute to contract management, tender evaluation, and project oversight.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships across departments.

This role requires someone with:

  • A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (BE, NZCE, or NZ Diploma in Engineering).
  • 3–4 years' experience in civil engineering, including design and installation of water, wastewater, and stormwater services.
  • Strong draughting and surveying skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and customer service abilities.
  • Digital literacy and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professionalism under pressure.
