We’re embarking on a significant transformation programme aimed at modernising our processes, systems, infrastructure and enhancing our overall customer experience. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive change and shape the future of Kiwibank in the Line 1 risk team.

You are a customer risk specialist with compliance experience, strong credibility, who can bring a fresh perspective to risk management and drive innovative solutions, breaking away from traditional risk management approaches. You’ll be working closely with the General Managers and Heads of Departments to provide coaching and guidance on effective risk management practices and establishing appropriate controls. You’ll be involved in projects focusing on uplifting existing and new processes and system, where you will play a SME role to support the teams to address risk and compliance exposures and deliver good customer outcome.

It’s essential you are able to demonstrate successful outcomes, including influencing senior stakeholders. Due to the scope of the programme of work, this position holds significant visibility within the bank. You’ll have:

- Knowledge of New Zealand regulatory requirements in banking/ CCCFA and financial advice would be an advantage.
- Experience in supporting and guiding business stakeholders in managing key risk and compliance requirements.
- Line one risk management experience, ideally within the banking or financial services industry, with a proven track record of working on risk and compliance uplift.
- Strong understanding of banking systems, processes, and controls, as well as the associated risks and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and effectively communicate complex concepts to senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience in driving strong risk culture and promoting a risk-aware mindset throughout an organisation.
- A strong sense of teamwork and connection with your colleagues and stakeholders
