This is a great opportunity for an experienced Ministerials and OIA Adviser to join a highly experienced and supportive team in a role where you will be empowered to utilise the entire breadth of your skills and experience.Te tūranga - The roleThe Ministerial and OIA Adviser works to ensure consistent, high-quality responses to requests for information are prepared, within the requirements of the OIA and/or ministerial process requirements. They will contribute to the broader work of the team and support the wider communications work of the Bank, including for specific events. The Ministerial and OIA Adviser will work with business areas to obtain information and respond to requests in a timely way and will build sound relationships with external stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of their work. They will also support preparing monthly reports on the work of the team.Please review the position description for this role here. Ō pūkenga - About youTo be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in responding to requests for information under legislative requirements or a similar role
- Relevant qualification in business management, law, public policy or communications
- Demonstrated understanding of the Official Information Act, Privacy Act, Public Records Act and Ombudsman Act
- A good understanding of the machinery of government
- Ability to exercise appropriate judgement to identify and escalate risks
- Strong communication skills and the ability to write clearly and concisely
- Proven ability to work successfully with multiple stakeholders and to build great relationships
- The ability to analyse complex information and legislation to provide guidance on risk to a wide range of audiences
