The Ministerial Services team is responsible for the management of Corrections' official correspondence and providing a crucial link between Corrections and the public, and also with the Minister's office. The team ensures consistency and effectiveness of official correspondence (including with the Minister's Office), Official Information Act (OIA) and Privacy Act requests across the business.
**Nga kawenga | About the role**
As the Senior Adviser Ministerial Services you will be responsible for providing advice and analysis for information requests and correspondence in relation to relevant legislation, the machinery of government, and other technical matters relating to Corrections.
A key part of this role will be providing advice and assistance to a wide range of internal stakeholders and businesses regarding responses to complex information requests, including Ministerial correspondence, Written Parliamentary Questions, briefings and aides memoire OIA and Privacy Act requests.
This role also involves mentoring and coaching advisers in the Ministerial Services team, drawing on your existing knowledge of the OIA and Privacy Act.

You will have frequent contact with senior management and staff across the country and the partner organisations we work with, making it essential to have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.

- Ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships (internal and/or external)
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure, according to legislated deadlines as set out in the OIA and Privacy Act
- Significant Public Sector writing experience, particularly around responses to OIAs, Parliamentary Questions and Ministerial correspondence
- Ability to present complex information including legislation, policy and procedural standards, in plain language and incorporate suitable contextual information
- Identification of potential operational issues, service delivery or reputational risks, and ensure this information is communicated effectively
**Utu a-tau | Salary**
The midpoint of the salary range is $119,013 and the full range (85%-120%) is $101,162 - $142,816. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
