Do you thrive in a role that combines analysis and planning, retail thinking, coordination and support for customer engagement? Join us to provide direction and support for visitor centre performance and conservation story-telling, to enhance visitor experiences across Aotearoa.
As product coordinator within the Product Management and Standards team, you'll be an essential link between DOC visitor centres and our mission to preserve and share Aotearoa's taonga with New Zealanders and international visitors. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to help maintain a coordinated visitor information network, providing reporting insights and advice for visitor centres from a management and day-to-day operational basis through to more longer-term planning requirements. You will provide solutions that help satisfy the changing needs of customers and implement strategic initiatives for visitor centres in ways that connect people with conservation, facilitate safe participation in recreation and contribute towards achieving positive outcomes for DOC.
**The position will be focussed on**:
- providing administration and coordination support, including centralised inbox management, meeting management and minutes taking
- collaborating with stakeholders, suppliers and providers to implement national initiatives, information, and services that drive conservation outcomes
- identifying and curating retail products that align with our values and resonate with our visitors, including negotiating pricing arrangements to meet retail profit targets
- maintaining the accuracy and relevance of our national merchandise range catalogue
- developing and maintaining performance reports including; key performance indicators, retail sales analysis and forecast, customer satisfaction net promoter score, and financial reporting
- providing regular support and guidance to visitor centre teams to drive retail performance
- maintaining DOC retail operating procedures and processes to help lead best practice and adhere to requirements.

If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:
- strong interpersonal skills in building and nurturing effective relationships
- knowledge of commercial retail product selection, pricing and costing systems, and negotiation strategies
- solid experience in retail stock management, systems, and processes including; product range buying, profit and database management
- proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including analysis and reporting using tools such as PowerBI, and Excel
- exceptional administration and communication skills, both written and oral
- the ability to present technical information in an engaging and understandable manner
- a collaborative, open mindset and the ability to work effectively within others.
Desirable
- Experience working in a commercial environment within a government department.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Tikanga Māori and Te Ao Māori or a willingness to engage is an advantage.
