He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
Tīhore Mai I Uta Tīhore Mai I Tai School-based Early Intervention Mental Health Service is an innovative approach to providing accessible clinical child & adolescent mental health services to tamariki and whānau in Years 1-8 in schools and kura across the Bay of Plenty. A team of registered mental health professionals deliver individual, whānau and group-based interventions within schools/kura.
In this role you will provide clinical and managerial leadership to the current team of clinicians based in kāhui akō /clusters of schools across the Eastern Bay of Plenty (Whakatāne, Opotiki and Putauaki). You will be responsible for building effective working relationships particularly with secondary specialist child & adolescent mental health services and education providers but also with partner organisations with whom the team is working such as iwi and hapu-based services and hauora.
The service is built on whakawhanaungatanga at all levels so empathy and flexibility are essential qualities in our ideal kaiarahi/team leader.
The Tīhore Mai I Uta Tīhore Mai I Tai teamworks alongside Education's Learning Support Delivery model in which the needs of tamariki and whānau are met through a One Team approach alongside iwi and hapu-based providers, community organisations and government agencies.

He Kōrero mōu - About You
- A Registered health professional under HPCA Act or Social Workers Registration Act.
- Have at least 3 years' experience in child & adolescent mental health services.
- Knowledge of the Eastern Bay of Plenty Iwi/hapu.
- Evidence of ongoing acquisition of cultural competency skills.
