**About IANZ**
We all rely on accurate laboratory testing to ensure that the products we use and consume and the environment we live in is healthy and safe. Likewise, our major export sectors rely on accurate laboratory testing to gain access to off-shore markets. But how do we know that those who test these products are undertaking their role in a competent fashion? To give assurance that best practices are being followed, confirmation of compliance with international quality and technical standards is necessary through gaining accreditation with an independent body.
IANZ was set up by government statute to fulfil this function, servicing a wide range of sectors throughout New Zealand. Its clients include organisations that provide chemical and biological laboratory services for diverse industry specialties including the food, agricultural and associated industries, biotechnology and chemical industries, health and environmental protection sectors, and many others. In particular, they have a major regulatory focus in their dairy, meat and drinking water testing programmes. IANZ enjoys wide national and international recognition for the quality and integrity of its services.
**About the Role**
The role will involve leading assessments of the quality and technical management systems in a broad range of organisations that provide these laboratory services throughout New Zealand. Full and sustained training for the role will be given over an initial six-month period.
**About You**
Who are we after? People who have:
- A tertiary life sciences qualification
- Experience within a chemical and/or microbiological testing laboratoryat supervisory/management level or alternatively those with KTP status
- Exposure to the dairy, meat or environmental testing sectors will be a bonus
