**Tēnei tūranga - About the role**:
Come and join the Communications policy team and play a key role in connecting New Zealanders and growing our digital economy. Our team works on a range of policy issues, spanning the ongoing funding of telecommunications infrastructure and the regulatory settings that underpin how the telecommunications market functions. Being the Communications policy team, we also have responsibility for postal policy.

We engage with telecommunications sector stakeholders on a regular basis, and this engagement and relationship management is crucial to the effectiveness of our team. We also work closely with the Commerce Commission. The global nature of communications means we also engage with our international counterparts on a regular basis.

**We work closely with the other teams in our branch**: Radio Spectrum Policy and Digital Policy, sharing ideas across the many areas of overlap. We have a flat management structure across the branch, meaning you really get to own and lead your work.

We are looking for a motivated person with experience in solving complex problems and formulating high-quality policy advice for a range of stakeholders and projects.

**Ideally you will have**:

- Experience in policy projects within central government
- Knowledge of policy development disciplines and processes
- Strong stakeholder, relationship building, influencing and engagement skills to gain the cooperation and commitment of others
- The ability to work through ambiguity and deliver results.
