Reporting to the Operations Lead, Healthy Women Children & Youth Cluster, we are seeking an experienced leader with a “can-do” attitude.

**Key responsibilities of the role**:

- Lead the service through development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of patient focused nursing care, enhancing co-ordination, continuity, and collaboration within the interdisciplinary team and with consumers, facilitating excellence, promoting scholarship and enquiry, and improving health outcomes.
- Substantial theoretical knowledge, extensive successful clinical experience and leadership skills to implement and deliver MidCentral strategies
- Lead the delivery of the nursing philosophy and Standards of Practice, individual performance development, identifying continuing education needs of nurses, and ongoing monitoring of performance development to improve patient access to services and achieving quality outcomes for care.

**About you**

To be considered appropriate for this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

- Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current annual practicing certificate and a minimum of three years recent leadership experience
- Proven knowledge and experience in Gynaecology
- Level 4 PDRP or evidence to show achievement at that level
- Recognised by peers as a leader of nursing practice and staff with evidence of change management and project work
- Post graduate qualification or willingness to work towards the same
- Experience in having worked in a leadership role and part of a wider leadership team and evidence in leading and managing change (process enhancements)
- Awareness of equity issues across the sector including, but not limited to Maori Health
- A thorough understanding of the function of the service group and their challenges
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
