We sat down with our UX Design Director, and he let us know the following about the role:
**What are some key responsibilities the person in this role will complete?**
- Partnering with designers, product owners, managers, and engineers to take complex, messy problems and turn them into experiences that solve banking in elegant ways.
- Drinking coffee or eating chocolate while actively contributing to the smooth operation, growth and culture of the design team.
- Balance being in the detail of specific design problems and having a wider conceptual view of the direction of BNZ's digital products and design systems.
- Work closely with product owners, product managers and our DesignDirector to build a strategic vision for the customer experience of the products you work on.

**What is the team culture and environment like?**

We are passionate about what we do and have a focus on making the most of the diverse talents and experiences of team members. We're busy, we enjoy being in the middle of things and we love that our work makes a difference to our colleagues and customers.

**What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?**

You get to work with a bunch of smart people who are chasing the same goals as you. We won't rest until we've delivered worldclass outcomes for our customers. And even then, we'll only take a short rest as there is always more to do.

**What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?**

We're looking for someone who has experience designing digital products and systems, not just websites. You have shipped products that solve real problems. You will have experience leading and mentoring within your team as well as an appreciation of the entire product development process, from problem solving and system modelling, through to detailed UI, visual, and interaction design.
