**Design Engineer (Bromley, Christchurch)**:
**The Opportunity**:
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team based in Christchurch on a full-time, permanent basis. You will be responsible for converting and delivering design briefs as supplied into design details and working drawings. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wishes the further their career by working for a fast paced, market leading, robotics and automation company.

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Using Solidworks to convert and deliver design briefs / project objectives into design details and working drawings.
- Setting up and testing mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic systems at any Scott site or customer site if required.
- Liaising with the workshop and contractors during the construction of any equipment designed to ensure smooth and trouble-free manufacture.
- Maintaining effective records and documentation.

**We are seeking someone who has**:

- A minimum of three years working in the mechanical engineering industry.
- A Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and/or NZCE or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Demonstrated previous experience and results in manufacturing / engineering related industries.
- An understanding of industrial machinery.
- The ability and experience to develop design solutions from a sales brief.
- The ability and experience to design and document pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- The ability to operate SolidWorks, AutoCad or Draftsight. (Essential).
