Te Puna o Waiwhetū Christchurch Art Gallery is looking for an Audience Engagement Coordinator to plan and deliver a vibrant, diverse, engaging and sector-leading programme of events at the Gallery and online, to support community engagement with art and our exhibition programme.

Our audience engagement programme welcomes at least 22,000 visitors a year and includes all our public events, performances, gigs, talks, tours and much more. The main elements of this exciting role are to:
- Create and execute a vibrant, diverse, inclusive and accessible programme of audience engagement events for the Gallery.
- Ensure that our public programmes reflect the diversity of our communities, with special consideration given to Māori audiences.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Gallery's teams to ensure the relevance and smooth delivery of the audience engagement programme.
- Enhance the Gallery's profile and activities across social media channels and within the local cultural sector network.
- Provide cost-effective, high quality programmes with an 'always something on' mindset.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- A love of the arts with special interest in visual arts.
- Exceptional inter-personal skills and commitment to inclusion.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, including public speaking.
- The ability to understand, demonstrate and value the use of tikaka and te reo Māori within the workplace.
- High levels of motivation, energy and commitment to hard work.
- The ability to work well under pressure with a positive, solutions-based approach.
- At least a few years' experience in developing and delivering audience engagement programmes and events, preferably in the cultural sector.
- A relevant tertiary qualification at Bachelor level (e.g., Bachelor of Arts) or extensive cultural sector experience in programme and event coordination.
