We have an exciting opportunity for two Technicians to join our successful and growing Health Group based at Wallaceville, Upper Hutt. This is a role that will allow you to develop your clinical laboratory skillsets providing varied support to the Enteric Reference and Clinical Virology Laboratories at the Wallaceville Science Centre.
You will be working across a wide range of laboratory tasks including specimen receipting, registration, data entry, laboratory housekeeping, equipment cleaning, maintenance of laboratory consumables, media preparation, ordering and stock take.
This is an opportunity for you to work within a fantastic team and learn in a supportive and development focused laboratory environment.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- A relevant science qualification.
- Registration with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council preferred
- Previous laboratory experience is desirable including specimen reception, specimen registration and data entry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Accuracy with numeracy and mathematical calculations and understanding of statistical measurement.
- Attention to detail with a quality focus.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and to plan your own work schedule.
- Commitment to safe laboratory practices.

This role may require weekend shifts, either on a permanent or on a rotating roster.
