Organisational Capability and Services | He Pou Aronui is a branch dedicated to supporting the rest of the Department to succeed by providing corporate services that help business groups and people within DIA to make the best contribution to New Zealand.
This role is part of the leadership team for the Technology Services and Solutions group which provides internal IT services to the Department. You will be leading a small team providing high quality thinking and analysis to the group and leading our planning, risk, assurance and reporting functions.
**In this role you will**:
- Help us focus on our priorities, plan and communicate our direction and report on how well we do
- Make sure our key risks are identified and well managed
- Monitor our key business processes including asset, supplier and financial management to ensure these are performing well
- Work with leaders across our corporate and business groups to ensure our organisational accountabilities are effectively fulfilled
This role doesn't require in depth IT knowledge. It's a great opportunity for someone outside IT who would like to get exposure to the IT space or an experienced senior advisor who is looking for their first team leadership role.
To succeed you will enjoy identifying opportunities for improvement and seeing them through and you will have:
- The ability to lead, influence and collaborate to get things done
- Experience providing business advice, ideally in a service-oriented group
- Problem solving and communication skills to be able to work through considerable complexity
- Confidence using data to identify insights and drive improvement
