The Opportunity | Te Āheinga
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning Lead to lead our Resource Consents team.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning process, manage a team of planners, and collaborate with stakeholders to shape the future growth and development of New Plymouth District.
Key Responsibilities | Ngā Haepapa Matua
Monitor workflow and team throughput to ensure compliance with statutory time frames.
Drive continuous improvement, team training and own team quality system in conjunction with team Lead and Reg services QA officers.
Provide support and guidance to other planners in the Consents Team.
Ensure customer needs are met and deliver a high quality and cost-effective service.
Develop and maintain relationships with industry sectors.
Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key resource management legislation.

Essential Skills and Experience | Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako
Relevant tertiary resource management qualification
Eligibility for membership of a professional institute
Extensive experience (ideally six years plus) in a resource management field, preferably in local government
