This is an exciting leadership role where your significant leadership, stakeholder management skills and public policy experience can be brought to the floor as a senior leader in the policy area of the Financial Stability Group. The Financial Stability Group here at Te Pūtea Matua leads work on the stability of the financial system as a whole, including our assessment in the Financial Stability Report and use of macro-prudential tools. The Group is also responsible for ensuring that financial institutions are licensed, effectively regulated and supervised, and where applicable, enforcement action is taken. Prudential Policy is responsible for the teams that write and review the rules underpinning our supervision of all our regulated sectors. Te tūranga - The role The Senior Manager Prudential Policy is a critical leadership role in the Financial Stability Group, supporting the Director of Prudential Policy acting as their 2IC in strategic planning, projects, external representation, policy advice and people management. As a seasoned leader from the public or private sector, you will display a kete of strong, supportive people management skills that empower those you manage to have a growth mind-set and strive for excellence. You will oversee the development of prudential policy advice and research and provide guidance on specific financial stability policy settings across banks, non-bank deposit takers, insurers and financial market infrastructures. Internal and external stakeholder management will be a crucial part of the role, and you will continue to embed a department wide culture of stakeholder focus, ensuring strong relationships are maintained with our regulated communities. Ō pūkenga - About you You'll bring;
- Significant leadership experience managing large teams and deliver on work programmes at a senior level ideally gained in a related field or organisation.
- Policy expertise with experience managing research and policy advice with strong processes and frameworks. Background working on regulatory policy would be ideal.
- Strong influencing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to provide intellectual and organisational leadership to a diverse leadership team as well as empower collaboration and teamwork.
- The ability to identify key audiences, and implement strategies to achieve required decisions and actions.
