Te tūranga - The role The Financial Stability Assessment and Strategy Directorate is largely responsible for identification, assessment and monitoring of financial stability related risks and opportunities in New Zealand's financial system, ensuring this is reflected in the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's priorities and actions.This role is central to ensuring the Financial Stability group's work is focused on initiatives that provide the best opportunity to promote financial stability and other outcomes Te Pūtea Matua is seeking to achieve.In this role you will: - Prepare high quality written analysis using information from a range of sources. - Collaborate closely with other teams in the Financial Stability Group to exchange information and share knowledge. - Undertake qualitative and quantitative research and deliver forward looking insights and briefings of the systemic implications of trends and developments, including economic developments and changes in technology, policy and regulation, consumer behaviour, market structure and business models. - Lead cross department, group and RBNZ engagement on issues of systemic importance - Help develop and maintain analytical tools and frameworks to support analysis, strategy development, monitoring and reporting. - Contribute to expert advice provided to senior decision makers and/or Reserve Bank committees. Ō pūkenga - About you You're enthusiastic and passionate about contributing to New Zealand's economic wellbeing. You have a keen eye for detail and enjoy collating various information sources to provide clear analysis to allow informed decision making. You will also bring to this role: - Strong analytical, critical thinking and conceptual skills with an ability to draw reasonable conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. - At least five years' experience in the fields of banking, insurance and risk management, auditing, supervision/regulation. Consulting experience would be useful. - Tertiary qualification in finance related disciplines, with experience in qualitative research and analysis. - Understanding of the New Zealand financial system, the interactions between the economy, financial system and prudential regulation, and prudential risks facing regulated entities - or a desire to build this. - The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and be a team player with a positive, enthusiastic "can-do" attitude.
