Senior Legal Counsel

Location: Auckland, NZ

**Mytona**, a leading game development company, is seeking an experienced **Senior Legal Counsel** to join its legal team In this role, you will provide strategic legal support on various corporate, commercial, and intellectual property matters

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Coordination of the Legal Team's Work:

- Coordination and oversight of the legal team specializing in various areas
- Task assignment, monitoring of execution, and performance evaluation of the legal team
- Development and implementation of strategies for the legal department's professional growth
- Сonstant interaction with external consultants on diverse legal topics
- Manage and conduct regular Group Legal Audit
- Legal Support for Operational Activities
- Providing legal support for the company's day-to-day operations
- Managing legal work to meet the company's needs, including engaging external lawyers
- Advising management on various legal matters and supporting key business objectives
- Corporate Legal Affairs
- Handling the preparation and execution of corporate transactions, such as establishing, reorganizing, and liquidating legal entities in different jurisdictions
- Providing legal support for the company’s international operations, including managing relationships with branches and subsidiaries
- Compliance and Risk Management
- Development and implementation of compliance policies with legal requirements in the jurisdictions where the group operates
- Management of reputational and legal risks
- Monitoring the fulfillment of obligations to regulators, including collaboration with the DPO to ensure compliance with data protection laws and mitigate risks related to data processing
- Intellectual Property
- Protection of the company’s intellectual property, including rights to games, trademarks, and copyrights
- Licensing agreements, software licensing, and protection against unauthorized use of products
- Development and updating of Terms of Service and other policies related to the use of games
- Contract work
- Development and review of contracts with partners, contractors, distributors, advertising agencies, and platforms (Google Play, App Store, Steam, etc.)
- Managing risks within contractual relationships
- Creating contract templates for typical business situations
- Investment and Transaction Support
- Participation in negotiations with partners and potential investors
- Legal assistance with investments and the development of employee equity compensation plans
- Performing legal due diligence for investment and transactional activities

**We’d love to hear from you if you have**:

- Law degree and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience
- Hands-on experience with laws and regulations related to digital innovations
- Proven ability to address complex challenges with tact and diplomacy
- Self-motivated, capable of working autonomously while excelling in team collaboration
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to monitor and manage tasks efficiently, especially when collaborating with an international team across multiple time zones
- Proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously and maintaining focus in a dynamic environment
- Solid understanding of general corporate law
- Outstanding legal research, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, quickly identify key issues, set priorities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Previous experience in the gaming industry is highly desirable
