Chubb NZ is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel / Legal Counsel to join our legal team and strengthen our commitment to exceptional service and legal compliance in the insurance sector. We're looking for an experienced lawyer who is resourceful, self-motivated, and is focused on driving improvement. This is an exciting in-house opportunity for someone who wants to develop a long-term career in Insurance.

**Your Role**:
You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive range of legal services that underpin our business activities. You will ensure that Chubb NZ operates within legal boundaries while championing our values and promoting a strong compliance culture.

**As a member of the Chubb NZ legal team, you will**:

- Review, negotiate, and draft essential legal documents, including insurance policy documents and various contracts that drive our operations.
- Provide insightful legal and regulatory advice on a broad spectrum of company initiatives, from insurance products to customer interface issues.
- Monitor and navigate the evolving legal landscape, ensuring compliance with all regulatory changes and fostering strong communication within the business.
- Develop and implement local legal and compliance policies aligned with our global standards.
- Contribute to company secretarial functions, including drafting key reports and documents.

**To succeed in this role, you should have**:

- A current New Zealand legal practising certificate with 5- 8 years of post-admission experience.
- Strong expertise in corporate, commercial law, with experience in financial services or insurance preferred.
- A proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively, both independently and within a team.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, along with the confidence to influence at all levels.Excellent commercial acumen.
