The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi Come and work with us and lead, direct, and implement our media strategy. There is a particular focus on managing, driving, and developing our proactive media approach and working with media outlets and journalists both reactively and proactively to help tell our story. You'll be responsible for managing and developing media relationships, preparing our spokespeople for interview, and developing and delivering key messages to media. You'll also collaborate with the LGWM team and our partners to make sure our messaging is consistent, on brand, and protects and enhances ours and our partner organisations' reputations. This is a three-year fixed term contract. The remuneration for this role is $130k to $145k (approx.) p/a paid commensurate with experience. About you | Ko koe tēnei To be successful you'll be a seasoned media advisor or journalist and have strong established relationships in the Wellington media. You'll have developed and delivered successful media strategies for complex programmes of work. An understanding of and experience working in or with either central or local government - or ideally, both - would be a significant advantage. You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of, Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of, te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
