**The role**

This newly created position is first and foremost about people leadership. You’ll lead, coach, and inspire a team of around 10 Commercial Underwriters, creating an environment where people feel supported, stretch their capabilities, and deliver their best work.

While underwriting knowledge is important, your greatest impact will come from how you support and empower your team.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Leading and developing the underwriting team to deliver high-quality outcomes for brokers & their customers, in partnership with our Business Development Managers
- Supporting the learning and growth of the team, including expanding underwriting authorities
- Regular 1:1s, coaching, feedback and performance conversations
- Providing technical guidance and stepping in on underwriting as needed
- Ensuring service levels, quality, and compliance standards are met

**What we’re looking for**

We’re looking for someone who thrives on leading people and finds real satisfaction in helping others succeed. You’ll bring:

- A people-first leadership style, with proven experience coaching and developing teams
- Solid experience in General Insurance, with good knowledge of the regulatory and legislative environment
- A strong grasp of underwriting principles
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
