**Mo te tunga | About the role**

Duties for this role include:

- Providing advice and answering enquiries on Protective Security Requirements (PSR), NZDF requirements and Government regulations, as well as any other relevant policies, regulations or requirements.
- Providing physical security advice on infrastructure and capability projects.
- Traveling to key stakeholders for security inspections and assessments.
- Drafting, reviewing and amending technical documentation and risk assessments.
- Providing project support, including enforcing policies and monitoring progress.
- Carrying out briefings and training to key stakeholders and users.

This role is based in Wellington CBD. Due to the nature of this role, you need to work primarily in the office. Once you have undergone training and are up to speed, there is the option of working from home one day a week.

Frequent domestic and occasional international travel is required. You need to have a Class 1 Full Driver's Licence and a current Passport. You must be able to travel by air transport.

You will have the confidence to build, maintain and influence relationships across all levels of the NZDF, including strong verbal skills to communicate on technical requirements to small groups.

This role requires a highly organised and results orientated person with effective and professional written abilities to draft, review and amend documentation, while adhering to all current policies and regulations. A written test will form part of the formal panel interview.

Ideally, you will also have:

- A background in a relevant field, such as construction, infrastructure, security or military.
- A basic understanding of electronic security systems.
- Experience in evaluating risk as it relates to security (advantageous but not essential).
- Experience in handling multiple projects and tasks at once and working with multiple deadlines.
- Knowledge of PSR regulations (advantageous but not essential).
- Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team.
- A relevant qualification is advantageous but not essential.

Higher Level Security Clearance
- You **must** be a New Zealand citizen **or** you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence **or** have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
- At minimum, you **must** hold New Zealand Permanent Residence **or** have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, **and** you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last ten (10) years.
- You **must** have a ten (10) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
