This is a brand-new role and a great opportunity for a proactive and motivated person to be part of a dynamic team. Organisational Capability and Services (OCS) | He Pou Aronui Security Risk and Resilience team sits within Organisational Capability and Services, a branch dedicated to supporting the rest of the Department to succeed by providing corporate services that help business groups and people within DIA to make the best contribution to New Zealand. **Key requirements of the role**: The Senior Advisor Operational Security (Physical) works with DIA Branch's to manage, develop, and implement resilient and effective operational security services and solutions for the business. These services align with DIA requirements, legislation, and government regulations. They champion operational security practice, provide expert advice, and lead the delivery of effective physical security outcomes across all operational business areas. - They will deliver high quality strategic business and physical security artefacts that seamlessly support business operations. - Deliver expert understanding of the Government Protective Security Requirements. - Be able to bring people with opposing views together, and steering debates towards pragmatic solutions and a Win: Win outcome, applied at the most senior levels of the organisation. **Previous experience**: - Proven ability to provide Operational Physical Security advice. - Experience in writing governance advice papers, physical security policies, guidance, and operating procedures. - Delivery of physical security threat and risk assessments. - Provision of emergency and incident management response and leadership. - Developing site security plans. - Implementing physical security operational guidance. - Implementing and managing physical security testing regimes. - Experience with planning, directing, and managing implementation for large programmes, from contract to final operation and transition to "business-as-usual". - Strong operational security track record of successfully engaging with senior level management, business owners and executives. - Demonstrated capability across physical security domains. - Demonstrated capability to deliver high quality strategic business and physical security artefacts that seamlessly support business operations. - A proven track record in managing the delivery of business solutions in a service orientated organisation and a demonstrable commitment to excellent customer service. - Attention to detail, strong time management skills, growth mindset and self-motivated.
