At the very heart of the energy sector, we transport electricity from where it is generated to large electricity users and the distribution companies who deliver it to homes and businesses nationwide.
Our core purpose is to empower the energy future for New Zealand - a future that delivers a net-zero carbon economy and a reliable and secure electricity system. Convergence of Information Technology (IT) systems used for data centric computing with operational technology (OT) systems used to monitor events, processes, and devices, will continue and accelerate into the future - so maintenance and continuous improvement of our cyber, physical, and personnel security landscape is essential.

About the role

You will be responsible for maintaining the effectiveness of Transpower's physical access systems and accuracy of systems data. This includes hands-on operational processing of Transpower staff, contractors, and consultants access requests, changes, competency expiry, and the identity assurance activities required in administering our systems and data bases.
You'll also be responsible for the contract administration and operations of the specialist services contractors associated with physical access and security and utilise your technical capability supporting the Site Security Manager, including with projects.
What will you bring?
You'll have well-developed communication and influencing skills - both written and verbal and a qualification such as New Zealand Certificate in Security, Electronic Security and/or Associate Protection Professional (APP) or their equivalent OR equivalent experience in physical security and access systems.

**Your cover letter will demonstrate**:

- 5+ years of relevant experience within the physical access and security domain
