An exciting opportunity exists within the Online Child Exploitation Across New Zealand (OCEANZ) team. The purpose of this unit is to proactively investigate online child exploitation.
This a demanding yet rewarding role and we are seeking applicants who have high levels of resilience, self-motivation, and a desire to be part of a high performing team that works closely with domestic and international partner agencies. In collaboration with our team, you will share responsibility for building and driving victim identification capability across New Zealand Police.
You will be required to analyse media content depicting child exploitation and abuse with a goal to ultimately identifying locating and safeguarding child victims. You will conduct victim identification investigations with the knowledge that the imagery we investigate can lead us to real world child victims. You will develop tradecraft and methodology, with a long-term view of knowledge proliferation and creating a sustainable long-term capability.
To succeed in this role, you must be prepared to be exposed to objectionable publications including the sexual abuse of children. This role will require a focus on personal psychological wellbeing, and you will be expected to have regular psychological checks.

Experience in conducting or supporting criminal investigations.
Experience in or knowledge of technology enabled crime investigations
