Investigator - Digital Child Exploitation Team
Digital harm can take many forms. Online child sexual exploitation and abuse is a particularly significant global issue. Children are our most vulnerable members of society. They have the right to grow up free from sexual exploitation and abuse, and having imagery of this distributed on the internet. This role represents an exciting opportunity for an Investigator to join our team to investigate and enforce breaches of the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993, protect New Zealanders and others abroad from online harm, while working in a fast-paced multi-agency and rapidly evolving global environment.
This a demanding yet rewarding role, and we are seeking applicants who have high levels of self-motivation, drive, intellectual horsepower and a desire to be part of a high performing team that works closely with the New Zealand Police and Customs Service as well as other domestic and international agencies.
You will be required to undertake, and support, the detection, investigation, enforcement and prosecution of those who commit offences against the Act, and other legislation. You will investigate such breaches with the knowledge that the imagery we investigate can lead us to real world child victims.
To succeed in this role you must be proactive, resilient, take self care seriously and be comfortable with being exposed to objectionable publications including the sexual abuse of children.
If you want a job where the work you do directly contributes to the welfare and lives of New Zealanders and others aboard, we want to hear from you.
You must also be capable of obtaining a Top Secret National Security Clearance if required. Under normal circumstances this will require you to be a New Zealand citizen, or hold a residence class visa and have 10 years checkable history in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom or the United States of America.
